Here is another Mini Practice quilt. The size is no more than 8-12 inches.
How to get this look:
Take a scrap piece of fabric. Cut backing & batting slightly bigger than your front fabric. Next, take tiny small cut scraps, yarn, thread, and spread out over the top fabric. Cut a similar size piece of netting or tulle (the same size of your backing fabric). The netting is placed over the bits & pieces scraps of fabric. I use straight pins to anchor everything down so it doesn’t shift when moving.
On your regular domestic machine pick complementary thread and quilt over the netting. For above, I focused on creating long smooth lines.
Mini practice Quilts are a great way to try a new technique or design. They are fast simple and fun. Plus you haven’t invested a lot of time and energy if you don’t like what you did.
