Mini Practice Quilt

Here is another Mini Practice quilt.  The size is no more than 8-12 inches.

How to get this look:

Take a scrap piece of fabric.  Cut backing & batting slightly bigger than your front fabric.  Next, take tiny small cut scraps, yarn, thread, and spread out over the top fabric.  Cut a similar size piece of netting or tulle (the same size of your backing fabric).  The netting is placed over the bits & pieces scraps of fabric.  I use straight pins to anchor everything down so it doesn’t shift when moving.

On your regular domestic machine pick complementary thread and quilt over the netting.   For above, I focused on creating long smooth lines.

Mini practice Quilts are a great way to try a new technique or design.  They are fast simple and fun.  Plus you haven’t invested a lot of time and energy if you don’t like what you did.
