Girabaldi

My latest in process contains kelp bed & girabaldi fish.  These fish are local to Southern California and South in to Mexico.

Process:

Start with PFD fabric.  I began with a plain white muslin.  Next I started layering color for water.  I usually start with lightest colors and then gradually build up the color intensity.  This process lets me add more or keep less of the original color.  Also, it lets me put in hints of purples or yellow color to give the water movement or sparkle.  I only use a small bit of dye with each shade.  Let each color set & dry before moving on to the next phase.
